What If the Website Crashes?
On result day, FBISE’s servers often experience heavy traffic and may slow down or temporarily go offline. Here’s what to do:

- Try accessing the result via SMS (see the section below) — this works even when the website is down.
- Use third-party result portals like resultchecker.com.pk as a mirror to check your result quickly.
- Try accessing the site during off-peak hours — early morning or late night tends to be faster.

Find FBISE Result 2026 by Name and Father’s Name
The official FBISE result portal (fbise.edu.pk) supports result searches by name in addition to roll number. Here’s how:
Step 1: Visit fbise.edu.pk and navigate to the Results section.
Step 2: Instead of entering a roll number, switch to the “Search by Name” option if available.
Step 3: Enter your full name as it appears on your admit card, along with your father’s name to narrow results.
Step 4: Select the correct exam and year, then hit search.
If the name-search function isn’t working (this sometimes happens under server load), you can also use the Gazette PDF (covered below) and search using Ctrl + F on your PC or the “Find in page” option on your phone browser. This is often the fastest and most reliable name-search method.
Download Official FBISE Result Gazette PDF 2026
The Gazette is the official, complete result booklet published by FBISE. It contains the full list of every student who appeared in the examination, along with marks, grades, and pass/fail status.
What is it used for? Schools, colleges, employers, and universities treat the gazette as an official document for verification purposes.
When is it available? FBISE typically uploads the Gazette PDF approximately 1 hour after the official result announcement.
How to download:
- Go to fbise.edu.pk
- Navigate to Results → SSC Part-I or Part-II → Gazette
- Download the PDF file (it can be large — 50MB or more)
How to search your name in the gazette:
Once downloaded, open the PDF on your phone or laptop and press Ctrl + F (Windows/Android) or Cmd + F (Mac/iPhone). Type your roll number or name to jump directly to your entry. You don’t need to scroll through thousands of names manually.
About FBISE — Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education
The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), established in 1975 under the FBISE Act, is an autonomous body operating under Pakistan’s Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training. FBISE has jurisdiction over educational institutions in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), Cantonment areas across Pakistan, and Pakistani schools operating abroad — including those in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, UK, and other countries. It conducts SSC (Matric) and HSSC (Intermediate) examinations for hundreds of thousands of students every year and is considered one of the most transparent examination bodies in the country.
2026 Passing Marks & New FBISE Grading System
This is the most important section for Class of 2026 students. FBISE has implemented a brand-new grading system and revised passing criteria — effective from the 2026 Annual Examinations.
New Passing Marks: 40%
Starting from the 2026 exams, a student must score at least 40% marks in each subject to pass. The previous threshold of 33% no longer applies. This is a significant change — if you scored between 33% and 39% in any subject, you will be placed in the supplementary (supply) category.
New 10-Tier Grading System
FBISE has replaced the old 5-grade system (A-1, A, B, C, D) with a new 10-tier performance-based grading scale:
| Grade | Description | Percentage Range |
|---|---|---|
| A++ | Extraordinary | 96% – 100% |
| A+ | Exceptional | 91% – 95% |
| A | Outstanding | 86% – 90% |
| B++ | Excellent | 81% – 85% |
| B+ | Very Good | 76% – 80% |
| B | Good | 71% – 75% |
| C+ | Fairly Good | 61% – 70% |
| C | Above Average | 51% – 60% |
| D | Emerging | 40% – 50% |
| U | Unsatisfactory | Below 40% (Fail) |
Your result card will show both your marks and your grade/GPA. The “U” grade means Unsatisfactory — i.e., failed. Students who receive a “U” in any subject will need to appear in the supplementary exams.
Paper Rechecking, Recheck Application & Supplementary Exams
Paper Rechecking (Verification)
Not happy with your marks? You have the right to apply for rechecking (also called result verification). Here’s what you need to know:
- Application window: Typically opens within 15 days of the result announcement
- Where to apply: FBISE official website (fbise.edu.pk) or in person at FBISE offices in Islamabad
- Fee: Approximately Rs. 500–700 per subject (confirm the exact fee on result day as it may be updated)
- What happens: FBISE rechecks whether all questions were marked and totalling was done correctly. They do NOT re-evaluate your answer quality.
Supplementary Examinations
If you fail one or more subjects (receive a “U” grade), you can appear in the Supply Exams, usually held in October–November 2026.
- Registration: Opens after annual result announcement
- Preparation time: You’ll have roughly 3–4 months to prepare
- Tip: Don’t wait to register. Supply seats fill quickly, and late registration may attract a higher fee.
Career Guidance: What to Do After the Result?
If You Passed — What’s Next?
Congratulations! Now act fast — college admissions move quickly after matric results.
- Science students (Pre-Medical / Pre-Engineering): Research FSc programs at top Islamabad colleges. Entry tests for medical (MDCAT) and engineering (ECAT) are held later in the year — start preparing now.
- Arts/Commerce students: Look into FA, I.Com, and ICS programs. Visit the admissions section at your preferred college as early as possible.
- Scholarships: Check the HEC, PEEF, and Federal Directorate of Education for merit-based scholarships available to matric graduates.
If the Result Wasn’t What You Hoped For
First — breathe. One result does not define your future.
- Apply for rechecking if you feel the marks don’t reflect your effort.
- Register for supply exams if you failed a subject — one extra attempt can open all the doors you want.
- Consider improvement exams if you passed but want better grades for competitive admissions.
- Talk to a school counselor or trusted teacher. Many students who struggled in matric have gone on to extraordinary careers. The path is longer, not closed.
